United Beauty is proud to reveal the re-launched Star Nails

As one of the most established nail brands on the market today, Star Nails® dates back more than 15 years, when the brand’s popularity was un-paralleled in the UK and Europe!

We’ve all seen many industry changes during this time, and this powerful re-launch sees the identity of Star Nails® and associated brands completely transformed including the logo, sleek black packaging and many new product formulations, specifically UV gels and acrylic powders to rival the best on the market.

This major project to re-launch over 240 products began two years ago with substantial investment in the on-site research and development of new formulations. During the re-development process, it was important to retain a sense of the unique Star Nails® history, and as the master brand for United Beauty, it was essential that the new look Star Nails® sat comfortably under their candy stripe umbrella with other leading United Beauty brands such as Solglo® Professional Spray Tanning, winner of Professional Tanning Product of the Year 2008, and Attitude® Professional Nail Lacquer.

“It has been a careful balancing act to bring the Star Nails® identity up to date whilst maintaining some of the original elements. I feel the new logo achieves this perfectly, and the new Star Nails® imagery encapsulates the spirit of the brand” says Nicola Palmer, United Beauty Marketing Manager.

“We feel that the new positioning and identity is the next chapter for Star Nails®, it takes the nail brand to a whole new level, coinciding with our exciting and diverse growth plans for 2009. The sleek and sexy new packaging ensures the brand has a strong beauty industry focus, rather than just concentrating on the function of the products, as has been the main priority in years gone by. The illustration imagery that is used to depict the brand is accessible and fun for all women; when we go for a beauty treatment, or have our nails done, we want to be treated like ‘a star’ and have that wonderful feel good factor when we leave the salon. United Beauty has tried to capture this feeling in the imagery and positioning of the Star Nails® brand, and we hope that salons, nail technicians and clients will get a sense of this from the range.”

THE LAUNCH

Following much industry anticipation and a trade press teaser campaign, the United Beauty team proudly unveiled the new look Star Nails® at the Professional Beauty North Show in Manchester on the 12th and 13th of October 2008.

A striking black giant stand 4m high, 96 metre sq was professionally created and designed to attract maximum attention and appeal. The new identity retains a few elements of the former pink Star Nails® and in all this re-launch firmly marks the return of United Beauty and Star Nails® to the exhibition scene.

A host of United Beauty staff offered their experience and guidance to welcome exhibition visitors to VAT free products and special show offers on Star Nails® products and training kits, Attitude® lacquers and Solglo®. On the big screen, skilled United Beauty educators and competition winning nail experts thrilled the audience with an array of advanced demonstrations being broadcasted live. Dedicated play areas provided expert one on one “real industry” tuition with the educator professionals allowing new and existing customers to get their hands on the new Star Nails® products before spending their money.

NEW PRODUCT FORMULATIONS

Star Nails® Performance Liquid and Powder
Within the NEW Star Nails® brand there are a number of new formulations; including Star Nails® Performance Acrylic Liquid and Powder. This technically advanced nail system offers qualified nail technicians a fast setting professional liquid and powder with extreme strength & flexibility. The range boasts many benefits including self-leveling properties for easy application, a non-yellowing formula and a cushioning effect for clients that are prone to lifting. It can also be used to protect nails damaged from extreme biting and with excellent adhesion it will not lift.

“Clients will notice that this system provides a lighter more comfortable wear and technicians will love the clarity of the powders, the non-bubbling and extremely sharp smile lines they can create.” as enthused by Helen Jones, United Beauty Training Manager.

Also added to the range, are 10 coloured acrylic powders which have all the benefits of the Performance system but with the additional advantage of being able to custom blend to match each client's natural skin tone to create a natural looking nail extension, or can be used to create fabulous colourful extensions and fantasy nail-art. The powders can also be mixed to create a colour that matches your client’s favorite outfit. The silver powder contains glitter that can be added or mixed with any performance powder to add sparkle to any occasion.

Star Nails® GF21 Coloured Quattro’s
One of Star Nails® most popular products has always been GF21 Clear Quattro, a super thin UV top coat that is applied like a nail polish over any nail extension system to leave a permanent high shine and prevent lifting. United Beauty has now expanded this self levelling, no wipe range to include 9 new colours so clients can have perfectly polished nails in their favourite colour without worrying about chipping or smudging with this permanent until professionally removed treatment. The shiny black round bottles are now in boxes with colours selected and developed to match some of the most popular shades from Attitude® by United Beauty Professional Nail Lacquer range.

There are two whites in the Quattro range; Snow White and Natural White that can be used to create sharp and immaculate smile lines. Technicians often have problems with smile lines but Star Nails® Quattro can be painted over an overlay but is still thin enough to avoid the 'thick' look sometimes associated with gel. Natural White is a creamy colour creating a really natural looking finish but for that ultra white Hollywood look technicians can use Star Nails® GF21 Snow White Quattro.

NEW Star Nails® Manicure & Pedicure range

United Beauty has expanded the range to include Star Nails® Manicure and Pedicure products. This luxurious, easy-to-use Manicure and Pedicure range contains 7 essential, uniquely blended salon sized products. The Manicure range has been developed to exfoliate, revitalise and give a renewed appearance to the hands whilst the sumptuous ingredients and uplifting fragrances of Patchouli, Bergamot and Lavender provide a memory evoking experience. The Pedicure range promises to awaken the senses with the refreshing aroma of Lemongrass and Grapefruit. The natural ascorbic acids found in Vitamin C exfoliate and smooth skin on the feet, softening cuticles, calluses and heels as well as brightening the nails.

It was important for United Beauty to include a Manicure and Pedicure range under the Star Nails® brand to ensure the range offered technicians everything they need for complete client nail care.

NEW Star Nails® Nail Art replaces Spangles®

The October re-launch also sees the introduction of Star Nails® Nail Art, including dusts, wraps, foils, rhinestones, glitter stripers, brushes, nail art pens, and all the tools to get creative and produce effective, long lasting nail designs. The nail art section of Star Nails® allows technicians to create fabulous “on trend” designs all year round. Available in soft protection bags and great value for money!
