
An NVQ is a 'National Vocational Qualification' which is an award based on performance as well as background knowledge. Students attend assessment workshops and complete a portfolio at their own pace. An NVQ qualification is used as a benchmark in the industry which demonstrates a national standard of work, it shows that a nail tech has a commitment to their profession. NVQ workshops are held at The Academy at our Head office in Corby
NVQ workshops held at The Academy have two levels:
Level 2
Level 3
Units:
Providing a Manicure Service
Providing a Pedicure Service
Extend and maintain Natural Nails (fibreglass only)
Providing a Nail Art service
Units:
Enhancing the appearance of natural nails using artificial nail systems
Maintaining, repairing and enhancing artificial nail structures
Planning, designing and providing nail art services to clients
Designing and creating images incorporating nail art techniques
Successful completion of each level will earn you a City and Guilds Certificate.
What else will I need?
- Ensure you hair is kept off your face and tied back where necessary
- Remove Jewellery except wedding bands and small stud earrings
- Professional dress must be worn
You will need to bring the following:
- Full working nail kit - products can be purchased
- Note Book and Pen
- Packed Lunch (refreshments will be provided)

Registration Fee, per level including 1 unit £59.00
Individual Units £29.00 each
All practical assessments £49.00 each
